This is one of Sonny's very greatest recordings.

This recording is such a beauty. The number of times that I rewinded the last 2-3 minutes of this, it must be a record even by my standards. Superb stuff.

Apparently this came out before the Getz/Gilberto/Jobim album...

In order to judge ones ability one must be as good or better if neither one applies to you then you really aren't qualified to judge you can only express your preference and that is valid but it's just an opinion nothing more and it makes one sound childish, just an opinion.

Remember Trane praised Getz by saying we'd all "Sound" like that if we could! Let cut the crap and give kudos to these Cats who are all stars in their own right! BTW I saw Trane and Cannonball live oftentimes in Birdland 1958 / 61-2 and Cannon was better at that time because Trane was doing his Free Jazz, at last, which pretty much sucked! When he played Hard bop and Blues he was awesome but free jazz was free because no one would pay to hear it!
