Proces of painting icon of the Nativity - Part 1

I’m starting to slowly work on the icon of Nativity. A commission that will go to Poland.

It will be based on the icon that I painted many years ago. In my own style.

Here is a first stage of the process of working on the image.
I have prepared a panel before. Coated with many layers of traditional gesso.
