How To Change Your Business Address For Your EIN with IRS.GOV | Step By Step Guide

In this video, I will be showing you how to change your business address for your EIN (Employer Identification Number) using IRS.GOV

You will need to complete form 8822-B for your business address change and mail the form in. If you are having trouble, you can contact the IRS (Business Section) at 1-800-829-4933

Thank you for the video, Destiny! It's very informative. On my end, I actually needed mine to be done quicker, like for it to be done today lol. And I read some of the comments from people saying they have been waiting for 1, 2 and even up to 4 months. I really couldn't wait that long. I decided I would rather go into one of their offices and hand them my application. So, I ended up calling the IRS to inquire about this. And I was transferred to the business department, and they advised that they could actually save me the trip and that they could update my information over the phone. I was so relieved! One of the reps I spoke to said it can take up to 30 days for me to get my documents in the mail reflecting the change. So, me being me, I still felt like that was too much and I was like there has to be another way! So, I called back 5 mins later and I spoke to another rep again and she advised that the previous rep I spoke to actually updated my information and that the update has already been completed in their system. And that she could either fax or mail the documents to me. And she also advised that they don't do emails. So, the only options for them to send the documents is either through fax, regular mail or you can choose both options. So, I gave her my business fax number and she faxed the document to me including the EIN letter reflecting the new business location address on it. I also told her to mail it to me lol I was like why not have both copies through fax and through the mail. Basically, I kept my mailing address the same. The only address I changed was the business location. I just got it done today and this took me less than 30 mins. Hopefully, this will help other small business owners out there with their address change!

I changed my physical store location and updated everything with the online platforms that I use and shortly after, I started receiving emails from one of these planforms asking for my updated SS4 or 147 C which needed to show my new location.

Actually I’m from india and I applied for non resident llc in daleware state but I put my full addres but may be some point i didn’t understand so when I get my llc so there was some missing on my address so I was just sad but now I’m happy because ur video show me how I can make corrections thank you so much🙏♥️

Wonderful tutorial!!! What if the change of address regards an Amazon seller account??? I simply do not want my residential information published on the Amazon seller site; essentially, I want to use my UPS business box account as my new mailing address, and I also want to use the assigned street address UPS gives you as the LLC's physical location ( as do many other sellers ). So my new mailing and physical address would be the same on this form. Does that seem as if it would be okay??? Once again, I absolutely love the simplicity of this tutorial. Thanks so much.

Ok my Registered Agent just filed my FL LLC yesterday (Feb 8).I plan to move to FL at some point this year. All my info is tied to my agents address for privacy. I haven't even applied yet for my EIN because I haven't decided yet where my physical business will be. Once I do, I assume I will have to update it (amendment?) w/The Secretary Of State first, then apply for my EIN so everything will match when I apply for business credit.
