Falconer
By Doug Spata
Item: 00-47467
Series: Highland/Etling String Orchestra
Ensemble: String Orchestra
Format: Conductor Score & Parts
Grade: 2
Perfect for late-beginner and early-intermediate orchestras, this work features simple eighth-note ostinatos; dramatic melodies; and a bold, cinematic sound. Rhythmic independence is limited, and the notes can all be played on the D and A strings (G string for the basses). But the piece retains a mature style that students will love.

I’m a first violin and I’m a freshman now. I played this for all city last year. I listen to it all the time because of the nostalgia of my last year with my favorite teacher.

0:54 This is my favorite part, I play cello and it sounds so nice. It's the perfect mix of staccato and majesty, it produces such a powerful tone.
