FFX-2 DOESN'T MATTER: The Truth About the FFX Ending

I have heard complaints about the FFX-2 Good and Perfect Ending -- that the ending cheapens FFX by bringing Tidus back. But what if Tidus CAME back in FFX? What if the ending isn't as ambiguous as we were led on? Let's talk about it.

Let's not forget Auron's last line in Spira, aimed at Tidus: "This is your world now". I don't think that's just a throwaway line, especially as last words, just for Tidus to stop existing moments after.

Your love and depth into the world of Spira through the few videos I've seen is really fun and infectious. It's also great to see someone else who loves X-2. I can't play through X without getting the urge to play X-2 right after. I got platinum trophies for both on PSN. The love for them is very real.

Kingdom Hearts 1 features Monstro as one of its worlds. Kingdom Hearts had a very close production time with FFX and was also worked on by Square Enix. That’s another reason Tidus and Wakka appear in the game.

I find the “belly of the beast” narrative for FFX and Sora entering Monstro/Pinocchio’s world to be more than just a coincidence.

Wow I’m so impressed with this! I kind of thought that by 2022 I would have heard all possible takes on the FFX ending but this was so new and refreshing! I loved how you looked at the Hero’s Journey - I never would have thought to apply that here, but wow does it fit perfectly. The connection between religion and sports is also so wild that I can’t believe I never connected the two. I’m amazed.

Everything makes sense and the Fayth likely wanted to reward the one who helped the Summoner defeat Sin and allow them their needed rest. If fiends are very much alive after they are reborn, then a person can be made in a similar fashion with the right guidance.

if you revisit all the fayth then one of them mentions perhaps they will dream an ocean for him to swim which fits the post credit x scene. can't rememeber which faith but not bahamut

Love your FFX analyses!! Thank you for keeping the love and content for FFX alive. I don't think I've personally ever thought that Tidus coming back cheapened the experience (although I must admit I do belong to the group that thinks the way they explored that in X-2 did, I'm sorry FFX-2 lovers! 🙈)
I think it's a wonderful and fitting thing for the fayth to do before they finally rest...to finally wake the dream of the same man who allowed them to rest from theirs. No more dreaming. Just rest and reality.

On replays of FFX (post playing X-2) I definitely noticed the implications, but i NEVER put two and two together with the poster of Tidus and the pyrefliee or the information of the Ultimania! Won't lie, I clicked on the video by accident but then sat delighted, watching the entire thing. Cracking video. And excellent analysis. FFX is a masterpiece. And as much as I didn't really enjoy X-2 from a game POV. I like that they came up with a story for him coming back. Though I was happy in my own mental theory that the fayth simply summoned him to life with their last bit of power/energy before passing on as a thank you to Tidus and Yuna. But as you said, that mystery was what left you with tingles down your spine. Fantastic storytelling.

Don’t you think there’s something off with the final scene of 100% ending? It seems weird that the last seconds only show Yuna. She pushed him down into the water (which I already found a bit weird) but why did they decide to make the final moment of this ending look like Yuna was standing alone on top of that rock, with the other protagonist being completely hidden?
[edit: I understood now. It makes perfectly sense and there's in fact more to it than meets the eye.]


And what you explained in this video here, my gosh, I wasn’t aware of that for the most part. And if it shows one thing, then that the creators did do everything for a reason and nothing is random.

I just found your channel today and really enjoy it! Would you ever do a video exploring the connection between ff7 and ffx? Lulu and Tifa have similar traits(dark hair, red eyes) plus Shinra, but I don’t know enough about the lore to connect anything beyond one of the devs saying ff7 and ffx are connected. I wish they’d expand upon the universe more esp with ff7 getting remake and rebirth but I know that’s pretty unlikely.haha

Could you do a video on the legendary weapons? I always found them to be oddly placed around Spira and hard to unlock without some serious help. Why did they need two special items to be unlocked and what did they have to do with the planets?
