How to connect a laptop (with a broken display) to a TV in just under two minutes

Broken display in laptop!!! What a bummer!! With kids at home it is prone to happen!

Who would want to spend more money on the laptop if you can still work with it using this simple trick!!.

In this video I'm showing how to connect a laptop screen to a TV without changing any settings in the laptop (obviously!! Since the laptop screen is broken, or may be on the other hand even if the laptop screen is fine, I'm just too lazy to do the setting changes ;-))

All you need is a laptop, a TV with its remote and a HDMI cable. Enjoy this video. Let me know in the comments section if it worked out for you. Sorry for the shaky camera work!.

P.S. - the tv mirrors the laptop's screen only when your laptop boots successfully to the point where you have to enter your password. so, when you don't shutdown your system properly, the laptop will be stuck in the black screen where it asks u to select whether to delete restoration and continue to reboot or not - during this stage the tv will be blank without signal. so, in such a scenario you have to blindly use the up/down arrow keys, enter/escape key to get to the point where you have to enter the pasy inorder for the tv to start mirroring the laptop screen.

Honey, you have no idea how much I appreciate you! I have an old laptop I lost visual on a few years ago. I wondered if I could use the TV screen. Since I have an HDMI cable, that will be perfect! I've been sharing pictures of my grandchildren with my 16-year-old grandson. He hadn't seen the ones from when his older cousin was a baby. I have videos of him too! That will thrill him and ME TOO! We get a big charge out of them. We giggle, laugh and I cry! I haven't seen them in years. Then I can transfer them to my better laptop and probably the TV too. Thank you so much! you can completely close the laptop screen, just go to settings and display settings and select -second display only, this way you can keep the laptop close and out of the way

If you're on a Windows computer and the TV is asking as a "second display" instead of mirroring the image, just press the "windows key + p" it's a shortcut to mirror the images so you can work with the one display
