Him: Hey this is Pete Griffin
Me: We were on the verge of greatness, we were this close

Every single time I see a demo or review of a Jazz bass the only tone you hear is the bridge pickup all the way on and the tone all the way up. The Jazz bass can do a lot more than just that one bright and snappy sound. Bring the neck pickup up more and roll the tone down and a Jazz bass can sound REALLY dense and fat too.

Pete is a hell of a player! He makes any bass sound great.

I’m a bassist and went to a guitar shop today to get an electric guitar but ended up playing this for almost an hour. Killer sound, almost bought it instead!

My respect for Elijah Wood just went way up. You're the man.

He’s like Elijah wood’s cooler older brother

If I played bass, this is the bass that I would play.

Pete Griffin is AWESOME! First time I saw him was playing with Zappa Plays Zappa at 10, 000 Lakes Festival. He BLEW ME AWAY with his performance and presence! Later I found out he has performed with lots of other acts - including a surprise: Hanson!
I think this is the next bass I get. Can't decide on fretless on this one or the next. Definitely considering that 5 string white though!

Fender products are great because the sound and quality are very good even at affordable price.
I can see why Fender is still chosen by so many people, even though there are so many excellent copies all over the world.

I bought the Tidepool Jazz recently for my 50th b- day. I absolutely love it - he’s playing it bright and snappy here but I play it with a smoother, rounder and warm tone. It’s a beautiful instrument - amazing the quality you can buy these days for a relatively low cost. I had a made in Japan Geddy Lee before; which I liked, but I love this bass. I get all the sounds I want from it; straight from the box. Old vintage Zeppelin, those warm tones from the first couple of albums; Wailers stuff, the Smiths ( check them out if you haven’t - extraordinary bass player Andy Rourke - anyway - except for my main six string guitar, the Fender Esquire Japanese reissue I brought in 1989, this is my favourite instrument I’ve ever owned. It’s almost making me consider getting a P Bass Player - that’s how nice these MIM basses are

Good sounding jazz bass, simple set up no active pickups just passive pickups and a clean sound.

I want that fretless version. Sounds quite tasty

One of the better sounding jazz basses fender make. Only ones that sound better to me are American standard and USA geddy jazzes... but they cost much much more! This bass is so much for the price, I love mine!

I wish they got this guy to just talk about the guitars from his point of view, and not very obviously from a card. It's kind of cold. I'd much prefer a personal opinion of the guy demoing gear.
That being said, these J-basses are fantastic. Super light and playable.
