DtsX Dolby Atmos. Which is better? WaterWorld in dtsX and Dolby atmos!

I'm the same, DTS always to me sounds louder, more bass and a fuller sound. I find DTS to be more consistent and Dolby Atmos can be hit or miss sometimes.

Sorry DTS X is Superior beside Dolby Atmos. It's all these streaming apps that is pushing Dolby Atmos. Dolby is really putting the money out for this codec. The bass is so much better with DTS. I'm 48 so I can remember all these versions of audio. 😂😂

Found a copy of Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back with both Dolby Atmos & DTS X on the disk ( both 8 channel lossles with similar variable bitrates )

I just loaded my dts version into player an so far I hate it, no use of atmos or height channels, like you say we spend lots of money on this stuff, but in return not getting our monies worth

If they both came out the same time, the sound would be comparable, DTS newer tracks seem to be louder than Dolby Atmos on my Anthem. But it also depends on the movie.

my fast and furious dtx version sounded terrible, almost nothing in height channels, I have not looked at the atmos version yet

I dont remember which processor you have, but you should be able to turn on Neural-X while playing a DTS:X movie and it will upmix the 7.1.4 track to all your speakers if you have more.

Hello, If you have Auro 3D capable receiver, lacking atmos movies sound better

Evidently some of the other reviewers have stated that the newer DTS-X PRO is a big step up from the regular DTS-X. That's why I am anise to get my Naka DRAGON system because it is going to have most or all of these major sound formats.

DTSX definitely has more potential. I think it really comes down to the person doing the mixes and how much love (and money) they put in the project.

On a technical level, DTS-X is a superior codec. However, the quality of the individual mix is what matters!
