Wow, thanks for sharing so succinctly. Most youtubers make me listen to their life story before sharing the topic of the title.

My wife from Waylon Ky . would make stove top cornbread almost with every supper meal … she passed away of cancer 4 years ago, never knew how she made the cornbread, she would make it and serve it and I would just eat it 🤣 ….. now … I know how to make it…. Thanks 🤗

I deleted my old comment offering how I slightly modified the measurements; I've always been critical of folks who send in "their way" and I was guilty of that so with that said, I'm now offering this comment: I just made this exactly how you showed (even with the pepper) and it came out fantastic as expected; had it with a bowl of homemade chili and rice and was a perfect accompaniment. Thanx for your recipes that serve just one or two people. Fantastic!!

Thank you for the recipe! For those of us who do like cornbread on the sweet side, two tablespoons of sugar did the treat. I think I will be making this again and again!

My Mema lived with us when I was growing up. She was a wonderful Southern cook. Your videos bring back such great memories... I can smell her cornbread in the cast iron skillet now. ❤

My mother always made cornbread on the stove. In a cast iron skillet and no sugar (it’s cornbread, not cake!) She passed away before I was able to learn her recipe, but I imagine it was very close to how you make it, Mr. Ken. Looking forward to trying it myself. Thanks for your channel!

Can I just say, your voice gives me childhood flashbacks. It's so comforting and kind. I love your biscuit and cornbread recipes! I can't wait to try more! My husband is Korean and he is really enjoying getting a taste of these Southern staples ^^. Thank you!

This is still the best cornbread recipe on youtube. I cooked some Texas chili so this came very handy mopping up all the goodness on the plate.

This works, I had to add additional milk but all-in-all, this makes real corn bread. Will add corn next time with hot jalapeño peppers.

Two years later and I am so glad I found this. It is hot and my husband wanted cornbread with his purple hull peas. I made a double batch and somehow managed to get the huge thing flipped. It was great. Thanks.

I made this. It turned out really great. I like the idea that you don't need an over. It could be cooked over a camp stove if the electricity was down.
