The reformist Masoud Pezeshkian has been elected as Iran's new president - after winning a run-off against a conservative hardliner - with 53% of the vote.

The former heart surgeon has promised to reach out to the West along with an end to Iran's isolation from the rest of the world.

The United States said the elections had neither been free nor fair - and said they didn't expect any fundamental change.

This man is the most knowledgeable President in the world right now. He's heart Sergeon, and has also had upgrading courses taken at Harvard ( U.S ) and Oxford( UK ). He's also very very rational person. He's such an outlier to anyone to be in power during Islamic Revolution both in terms of honesty and knowledge.

Imagine pointing at the state of Irans political system when the UK is in such a terrible mess: monoparty, open borders, massive inflation, unaffordable housing and little for younger people to strive for.

Iran as the country is oil and gas-rich 😊 growing and managing well the country. It's The UK that's in trouble with no gas or oil homelessness on the rise. Now is the chance to improve ties with Iran instead of sanctions. And both countries can prosper better.

In the Middle Ages while Europe lived in darkness, Iran and many other countries in the Middle East were a haven of knowledge reason and enlightenment. Call me an idealist, but I hope that Iran can become that again.

In the first round, 61% of the people boycotted the elections in general and did not participate in the elections at all. 61% means that more than half of the population did not participate, then the competition went to the second round? With a factor of 3, more than 50% did not participate in the election, how was the participation and competition high?
