There have been so many times as a DPS where I would get caught up in my rotation, only to realize I wasn't hitting anything anymore and I was just standing there doing nothing. Granted, this usually only ever lasted for a few seconds, but that's still a big DPS loss, this is a huge benefit as it will ideally eliminate or at least significantly reduce the chances of that happening again.

I always had targeting issues when going from aoe to single target, this really helps alot.

Holy F my man, you are a legend! I actually found ranged physical jobs to be so Janky because of this. As I'm spamming my AOE, if my target dies, then I want have to stop, click right on Dpad to find another target then start again. Or even my red mage, big 2 second cast time, target dies, 2 seconds wasted. Click right then start my cast over. This is huge for so many jobs!

This is a godsend! I actually got cramps in my left hand after a super long pvp session yesterday (due to resorting to the "claw").

This should be great for AOE usage or for casters attacking mobs in dungeons when the particular enemy you had targeted has died, but you want to keep spamming outburst, total eclipse, etc.

PC controller player here. I noticed in dungeons I already targeted something whilst Aoe-ing after 1st target died. Thought it was a fluke. Thanks Stephen didn't realise its a new feature. I'm gonna experiment now. Lvling and enjoying black mage. So maybe line of sight can work better cause of long range and wanting to get the middle of the group target for big Flare Aoes.

Its so interesting because as a player of both ESO and FFXIV i was just noticing how even though ESO is more action based its now focusing a lot more on Global cooldowns. Now ffxiv has added this function that makes combat feel more action oriented. They really do influence each other. Thanks for the tip!

Seems pretty useful in pvp when using a controller, ive had to slightly fight with the targeting system in order to target a weak enemy right in front of me, this should make targeting that person easier .

I just tried this 2 days ago and omg this made using feathers and saber on dancer much smoother. Plus afflatus misery also beneficted from this! I this change <3 <3

I just found this video and it made me grab my head in sheer disbelief at how much easier this makes targeting. As a new FFXIV player using a controller this is an absolute godsend
