She’s so smart and yet people didn’t think of her like that because she’s so fun and charming too.

I wish I could tell her how much I appreciate her work. She was something else. Very unique person in every way. I saw her first in the Poseidon Adventure on tv back when I was 8 or 9. I could be off a bit but I'm 52 now. I love that movie. Shelly always stood out and as I've been revisiting this movie I took the time to view her other work and it's impressive and moving to me. She's great in my opinion. I love you Shelly Winters ❤️

I always admired Shelley Winters for lack of fear to portray flawed and sometimes despicable characters. She really was a brilliant talent.

I remember an interview in which she talked about her discussions with the director of A Patch of Blue. She was trying to get all Method-y with the director and finding backstory and analyzing. And he apparently said "No. I just want you to be a bigoted bitch. There's no back story to that." And she was eminently detestable in that movie. Incredible performance.

I have a photo of myself at two years old, playing with Shelley Winters and Lana Turner in Lana's house. My parents were invited there a few times in the 60's, back when they were performing at a popular nightclub. I've always regretted not stopping to at Musso and Frank's to say hello and tell Ms. Winters how much my parents enjoyed their friendship with her. :)

Great interview!
Shelley was far too intelligent to pull off a sex kitten image. Despite that era Shelley was able to carve a path in the industry with brilliance. Shelley was a person I'd enjoy conversing with.
