I got ten new books in January, so let's take a closer look at all of them. At the time this was recorded, I had even already read one and a half of these books!

The Trio, Safe as Houses and The Removed sound incredible. I didn't realize 'Safe as Houses' is such a popular title for books, there were about 4 different books by that title when I searched for it, but none of them the one here. I'm very much going to be looking for it!

Seems like “partner” is the term of choice these days no matter who you’re talking about. It always seemed kind of dispersonal to me, but whatever works.

I’m close to finishing The Guest List by Lucy Foley, which I remember you read last year. Surprisingly, I’m enjoying it! I actually DNF’d her first book because I was so unbelievably annoyed that she wasn’t saying who the victim was until the end. That trick is actually working better in this book and this one has multiple reasonably redeemable characters, whereas her first book has none.

I’m not yet ready for any of the heavy books this year. Soon...

Just recently bought Cantoras myself. Please check out Carolina de Robertis' backlist including her last novel Gods of Tango, most of her novels explore the lives of same sex loving women in South America, specifically in Uraquay and Argentina
