Noah Lyles carted off track after men's 200M finals at Paris Olympics

Days after clinching the Olympic title in the men's 100-meter dash, Noah Lyles was carted away from the track after failing to complete the sprint double. It was then revealed he had recently been diagnosed with COVID-19.

After crossing the line third in the 200 meters for the second straight Olympics, Lyles fell to his back and eventually sat up to be tended to by medical staff. A person familiar with Lyles' condition, who did not want to be identified, told AP was diagnosed with COVID two days before the final:

The World Health Organization said on Tuesday that 40 Olympic athletes have tested positive for the virus. Host country France did not require those who tested positive to drop out, but merely recommend they self-isolate, according to US News.
