Here's a guitar style comparison between a strat vs superstrat. in this video, I take a look at the differences between these two guitar types and have a play through clean and distortion tones so you can see a direct comparison.
A little side note, I had a couple of audio problems on this video, my voice went a bit out of sync in one part, sorry about that guys!

I was thinking while listening, the Strat slaps you and tells you “listen to me” and the Superstrat says “let me sing to you”.

There’s just something about the strat that I can’t put down, I know it isn’t as diverse, but as a Texas blues player it’s perfect, it’s got character

I have an Ibanez RG Prestige and I love it. I feel it's a do-it-all guitar. The neck is so sweet and playable and the five position switch really gives five different sounds. Thinking I might want a strat too, we'll see what happens... I like many different genres of music.

I finally got a Fender Strat. Ive been doing SRV songs and that kind of stuff, love the guitar. That guitar cant be beat for that thick blues tone SRV tone and certain sounds when you want it super clean, nothing else sounds like it. I still cant part with my Music Man and Ibanez guitars as my normal go to for most things though.

Here's how I put it: There are three kinds of Strat-based guitars. There is Level One, which is the classic 1954 Stratocaster. Then there is the Level Two modern Strat, where some of the classic Strats many faults are corrected. Examples would include excavating the truss rod access from inside the neck joint to the headstock and replacing the vintage six-screw vibrato with a two-screw unit. Lastly, on Level Three we have the actual Super Strat, which does indeed include the Ibanez RG series, among many others. I am now fortunate enough to have members of all three Strat clubs ... ranging from a rather humble yet terrific sounding Peavey Raptor Plus EXP to the recently-acquired Bullfighter neck-through that is the most metal thing I've got, with a couple of Ibanez axes along the way! I'm loathe to give up my Peavey, but she don't need no vintage-style sisters;after this, any guitars I buy that are at all Strat-ish will be at least modern Strats. Mr. Vintage I am NOT!😎

Just found out my over 10 year old guitar is super strat, did not even know it was a strat. That is why I am here, what is it. Though my washburn x40 has manhunter pick ups, which are made by Washburn, definitely punchy and hot HSH.

For me the Ibanez sounds fuller and a lot more definition in terms of tone! However when the average Joe thinks Ibanez they think shred machine and a strat (fender or ?) More all round guitar. Which would i go for hmmm Ibanez all day long

Super Strat is the way to go. Just go with a Super Strat because you got all of the versatility you need. It's quite capable and you choose the guitar that does the job. I see too many people spend more time fidget with their guitars on stage than what is really necessary. I seen guitarists at church who spend a lot of time tuning their guitars on stage and fidgeting with their equipment in-between playing what few parts they perform in the songs while on stage.

Why do people put themselves through this? I pay my neighbor $80 per year to do a string change and full setup on my Jackson Pro Series Soloist SL2Q-MAH and $80 per year is typically all I do. I don't play on stage and I don't gig with my guitar, but it does well whenever I usually need it. I don't have to go through much tuning of the guitar through the year either because I have a double-locking tremolo bridge system that isolates the strings from rubbing and binding to other parts of the guitar. This double-locking bridge system gives me total flexibility for controlling my strings as the resonate so I can have the freedom of expressing notes as I use music to paint pictures in people's minds.

Look at the kinds of music people perform on their guitars. The Super Strat is designed to be more capable and it shows in how people play it. I also see people need a whammy bar to do some tricks with the guitar but they choose the wrong guitar for their mindset and that's why they do cringeworthy things such as rapidly moving the pickup selector switch back and forth to have a expressive effect. Just get you a Super Strat with low reliable action, a thin fast neck design, 24 frets, have a slimmer neck joint, have humbuckers, have a Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo bridge system, and result yourself in a better piece of equipment for a better musical experience.

I know I’m late to the party, but would you reccomend an Ibanez roadstar or AH-10 similarly to the RG? I want to pick up the ah-10 but im afraid of it being more on the strat than the super side

What exactly does a superstrat have that a Fender or other strat copies don't have?

A part of shitty bridge design on fender, both of guitars have nice sound and character. I personally prefer Ibanez sound and how the guitar look. Thanks cheers.
