Downtown Leavenworth park vandalized days before Christmas

A truck tore through downtown Leavenworth's Front Street Park sometime overnight, leading the city to close the popular sledding spot on Dec. 22.

The last couple of times we have been to Leavenworth this year I've never experienced such horrible, rude people there before. I've had my car keyed multiple times, been randomly screamed at, run off the road, it's been a horrible experience each time. Never in all the years before that I've lived in washington have I experienced anything like that while visiting in leavenwroth before, so it was really shocking to us. I don't know what this uptick in terrible people is all about but it's very sad, my family and I will be avoiding leavenworth for a while. I hope this man faces justice and gets a hefty fine

He should be forced to make a televised apology and personally work to restore that hill in lieu of a hefty fine. No jail time necessary IMO but such a jerk needs to learn his lesson like a child.

We were there yesterday with my kids and assumed they were doing work on the hill. We had our sleds and absolutely would have used it, so this really hits home.
