I'm glad you did this video Blake! I won a $50 gift card from Aquarium Co-op from Bob Caylor and I made sure I included three bulbs with my order!! I'm looking forward to them growing! Hopefully I did everything right 😂 what a great tip, because I didn't know that if you kept it trimmed you could keep it from going to the top and producing a bushier plant 🤔👍wonderful and informative! Great video and thank you very much for sharing! 🤗🌱🐟🌿🙏

Try growing one in your pond Blake, they have a nice flower and once it gets to it's adult form in a pond it throws off heaps of suckers, good if you want to propagate it, I haven't got the flower to set seed yet though, I might try again this Summer with a couple of plants, I think it has to be cross pollinated with more then one plant unlike the common Lillies, something for you to try through the warmer months, you have to bring them in for winter though.

I notice you have terracotta pots in your tank? Do they work out well?

Just noticed some roots and leaves coming out of the bulb once I upgraded my lighting. Unrelated- what is the type of fish you have that we see swimming on the leaves in this video… they look like Denison barbs/roseline sharks but lack the red color?

Thanks!

I had a bulb with leaves and roots on the bulb. When I placed it on top of the soil the roots grabbed the soil and dug the bulb into the soil

I can confirm that once you allow a few leaves to reach the water surface, the plant stops putting out the underwater leaves!

Yet another plant or fish that's bloody hard to find here in new Zealand. I saw one for sale years ago in a pet shop but I passed, totally regret it now.

I have an open top tank, and I kinda want to let one reach the top. Im cautious though, because everyone says thats a bad idea. My thinking is, if i let it reach the top, it provide shad for some anubias and java fern underneath.

Hey Blake! I have 3 red tiger lotus bulbs and I’ve had them for months and never sprouted. Now all of a sudden after I forgot about them and let them just do their thing bc I couldn’t keep them planted under the gravel… ONE have sprouted red leafs! And white roots! The second one has roots and small sprouts BUT it’s floating!!!?? Why? Should I let it float? Or submerge it? And the 3rd one hasn’t done much but barely sprout red color out the top.. I need help please Blake

I bought one the other day. Do I have to plant it in soil first then transfer to the tank or can I just put in straight in the sand in the tank ?
