Inmate's video triggers Goodwood prison raid

Correctional Services National Commissioner Makgothi Thobakgale is leading a raid at the Goodwood Prison in Cape Town. It's in response to a viral video declaring a lavish lifestyle behind bars. Newzroom Afrika's Nasiphi Same has more.

It is the truth. They do live a lavish live. These wardens must be fired. As of lately, the suppliers that supplies animal feed now has to pay the prisoners to offload trucks because they refuse to do it for free. The very animal feed that feeds the cattle, pigs and chicken that they as prisoners eat for free. That is why there is so much crime because it is better in prison then living outside. These human rights departments are to be blamed for all this. So yes they live better then the poor outside prison.

Really not concerned about how phones got in there or whatever. The thing we concerned about is the soft and lavish lifestyle this prisoners are living on the inside than the outside. How can crime be stopped if this people breaking the law basically got nothing to lose they will be rewarded with soft beds, electricity, internet, dinner and etc. Really no hope for this country. This country is too much of a mess to be fixed. It's a joke of country South Africa 😢.
