VW Golf MK6 2009-2013 PDC Parking sensor Buzzer Speaker fault H22 front location replacement RHD UK

VCDS fault code related to H22 short to ground for the front buzzer/speaker. Both front and rear parking sensors stopped responding, the parking buzzer speaker was replaced and all sensors started working again, there is also another speaker/buzzer in the boot/ trunk for models that only have rear sensors, this would show fault code related to H15

Unbelievable... why oh why did VW put it in such a ridiculous place!
On my MK6 Golf GTI if I remove the small drawer to the right of the steering wheel I'm within a few centimetres of touching the buzzer.
I used an endoscope just to check that my buzzer was definitely in the same silly location and yes it was.
I can clearly see and touch the wires coming from the buzzer.
How easily is the connector removed from the buzzer?
I was thinking that if I could tease out the connector with my fingertips and light pulling, plug in a new buzzer and simply secure it somewhere else nearby.
However if the connector is locked in place then I’m screwed with this idea.

H22 parking buzzer speaker VW part no: 8E0919279, my one showed fault code short to ground in VCDS, both the front and rear sensors stopped working just a long beep when reverse selected and no further response, replaced with after market speaker/ buzzer only £7 from Amazon

I have an Audi A6 2012. If the PDC is damaged, will it cause the sensors to stop completely and not show any signs?
