so i have adhd, and i find it really really hard to focus on vids that incolve lots of speaking when explaining topics, so ive been struggling to find a good vid that will explain AJATT well without going off into useless rambling, but this video helped so much. everything feels so clear and easy to understand, and i didnt struggle through the 8 mins.

Everyone In this community is so chill. 99% of the AJATT/Immersion style videos has people that strike me as down to earth and likeable. Great stuff dude, thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Great overview mate. I'm diving head first into AJATT at the start of next month, and I already have RTK coming to me in the mail and a bunch of stuff lined up (games, anime, manga, movies) to help me make some progress. Looking forward to checking out your future content here. 👍

Lol, well ok...I am working 8-10 hours a day and my work is mainly in English or German. Despite that I also need to educate myself for my job. Therefore, I am reading papers...also in English. It would be possible to listen Japanese stuff while Im coding or making sport. But I find it really hard to get even slightly to 18 hours or similar. Did I miss something here?

Oh, and despite that: Are there any resources for getting Mangas in Japanese in a digital way?

Why would phase 2 learning kanji be beneficial before learning kana and hiragana? Is should be the other way around.

okay well i get the immersion part but frankly i dont get why you'd start with kanji then do kana? like the 4k 2k anki set has the kanji in furigana so you can learn that way if you know kana..

Hey….after i purchased genki1 plus 2 i feel i wasted money but it doesnt matter haha..so: should i learn kanji FIRST and then create those sentences? I dont understand the concept quite well ..- would be kind if someone clears this up

Why on earth does hiragana and katana come AFTER kanji?!

How then would you know things like 有り難う御座います or 下さい ?

At this point I don't even understand why AJATT is considered a method, as if there's other methods/alternatives that will help you reach fluency. AJATT is basically the ONLY way to become fluent in a language. Literally everybody you meet that's fluent (including Japaneser people themselves) HAVE AJATT'd to the point where they're articulate at the language. I wouldn't even call it "I became fluent by AJATTing" at this point, I would just say "I became fluent through immersion." because that's basically what every fluent speaker did, even if they spoke in the beginning they STILL immersed their way through fluency.

Haven’t seen too many videos covering AJATT.

How do you immerse yourself in Japanese in terms of listening? I’m basically finishing off RTK now and I’m a bit lost.

"learning the kanji" is kind of a pointless venture. I would recommend just repping common vocabulary decks which will give you kanji fluency in tandem with your immersion and mining sentences. Just a 1 year in perspective from someone who skipped RTK and does not regret it.

Awesome that you're making content!
Right now I'm a few months into learning japanese using the refold method, so I'm not an expert by no means.

It's just that your japanese pronounciation kept bugging me throughout the video. I think you still have a really strong british accent while speaking japanese words like kanji, katakana & hiragana.
Other than that the video was great and a good overview of the topic !

Just the pronounciation bit makes me a bit hesitant to subscribe, because I'm afraid it might be harmful to hear incorrect pronounciation of your target language.
