On my bucket list to go to Korea and Japan but the airfare prices are crazy.

Thanks for sharing. I always go to Yodobashi Akiba every trip, a must stop! And when you're done shopping there's a great french style bakery on the ground floor just outside. I also love Leonardo's another great must stop shop, if you love building model kits you have to stop there!
Shizuoka not has only Tamiya's HQ, another must visit, there are alot of "mom and pop" stores as well.

Wow! nice finds! A long time ago, in a galax...err, I mean in Tokyo, I visited a "Mr Craft" in Ebisu in Tokyo before it closed. Back then (and maybe now, IDK since postal shipping has been all hosed up price wise) it was viable to send your stuff back home via Japan Postal via sea. (it would arrive in about 2-3 months but it was cheap/safe/affordable).
More recently, I happened upon a hobby shop in Wakkanai, Hokkaido by accident in the basement of a store called "Kokusai Genkido". Because it wasn't Tokyo, It was remarkably large by comparison with many vintage, rare kits and associated items in aisles, shelves and ceiling. And yeah, in both instances I walked away with several shopping bags. 🙂
BTW, you MUST visit Tamiya HQ Office in Shizuoka at least once. They have a museum you can walk through (reservation needed) and a small gift shop.

Those are some deep discounts, especially for Find Molds kits. I think my cheapest one was 28 bucks before shipping, I'm gonna say it was the J8M Shusei rocket fighter.

I have that A6M2-K trainer Zero. Hasegawa did well scratching that niche itch.
