Dr Garth Davis' research changed my life, I was 23, overweight and blood pressure so high i'm at risk of a stroke because all i ate was chicken and beef thinking i need to get all the protein in the world. It's total BS after nearly 10 months of being plant based I've lost about 4-5 stone and I'm now training 5 days a week weight lifting and boxing. Thank you Dr Davis

As a long time vegan I never had anyone ask me about protein until I moved to the US. I work out 5 days a week and all the fitness advice keeps shoving eating so much protein

I have had just the experience he talks about. I was underweight. Told to eat more protein (plant based). But i was so obsesses with eating as much protein as i could and then going no cant eat fruit it doesn't have enough protein AND i got nowhere, didn't gain anything i was too stressed! Soon i woke up to this fact and just started to eat a full range plant based diet again and not think about protein and what do you know, my weight is back to normal.

I'm a born again vegetarian. Now I'm more leaning towards vegan diet. Plant based protein way better than animal based protein. I'm getting healthy and also loving my cultural foods and reducing dairy items.

I exercise 3 days weekly, weight training, ride my bike and am vegan. I tested his hypothesis and it's absolutely correct. You get plenty of great nutrition from greens, beans, onion and everything else that is good in the vegan way of life. I started at 385 in Sept of 16 and am down to 270 as of today. 10/15/17. it's a journey to be sure....and build those good habits up.

Australian mice studies are very clear. The high protein mice live the shortest. High carbohydrate low protein low fat mice non caloric restricted live the longest. Caloric restriction for longevity actually functions through restriction of protein and fat but mostly protein restriction.

I lost a dear friend due to kidney failure. Years earlier she had undergone bariatric surgery, lost the weight but because of not changing her diet she eventually regained unwanted pounds. Unfortunately she began meal replacement with years of drinking Diet Pepsi and continued to consume it even after needing double knee replacement and later being put on dialysis Tragically no one in the medical profession ever spoke to her about nutrition and how it related to any of her health maladies.
Hopefully we will be wise enough to apply the knowledge Dr Davis is giving us. Peace💚

Crap. I just had an African-inspired stew made of three kinds of beans, sweet potato, peas, onions, in a peanut based sauce. I'm a plant based protien-aholic. Is there any hope for me? :)

What is the source of this protein obsession? Everywhere I turn I see labels boasting more protein in every conceivable product. I can't help but wonder if this isn't being perpetuated by the animal agriculture industry in order to recover any losses they've had from people eating less meat and dairy in the last 10-15 years.

Can a bariatric patient be a Vegan post surgery and still get all of the unique nutritional requirements we need from food? I had surgery 12 years ago; I lost 150 lbs and regained 70 lb. in the last 8 years. My Bari doctor says eat more protein but that didn't work. I can't eat as much as he wants me too. 😔 I have recently lost 15 lbs by eating whole foods and really am considering becoming Vegan because frankly meat just hurts to eat. Please help.
