I definitely understand where Snow is coming from.
Ultimately I think I'd have gone with Regina's plan, but looking at it from Emma's view vs Snow's view makes sense.

To Snow White, they were doing something evil in the name of good. That's usually the easy way out and the times that Snow has chosen the dark path she's regretted it immensely. She doesn't want Emma to go through that. It's like lying, it hurts at first but it gets easier each time until it's second nature.
Also, the lost boy is technically a child, he never grew up, he's not refusing to help them because he's evil, he sees them as the enemy and sees Pan as his leader.

Snow isn't being stupid here, but she is being emotional. However, I'd argue that she's being less emotional than Emma and Regina who are out for blood.

This is such a dark moment in the show, and yet it’s played off in such a inconsequential way. I mean, he’s a kid, and Regina rips his heart out in such a way that makes me think she’s done it before. Not to mention the fact that Emma allows her to do it and has to physically restrain Mary Margaret
