2017 KTM 1290 Super Duke R Review, Jeff Ware

We take the new 2017 KTM 1290 Super Duke R for a spin around Sydney Motorsport Park at the Australian Press Launch of the 2017 Street range. The new 1290 R has more power and more torque thanks to a bunch of engine revisions including Titanium valves, more compression, redesigned intake funnels, intake resonators, clutch changes, new pistons, crankshaft, exhaust system and tuning.
The electronics include Motorcycle Traction Control, Launch Control, Anti Wheelie, Ride Modes (Street, Sport, Rain), Supermoto Mode and cornering ABS. The suspension is WP and revised for 2017 and there are loads of accessories and performance upgrades available through KTM. The new styling and bodywork is pretty sharp, too, and overall it is a top job by KTM.
