Did you try connecting the eGPU to a Thunderbolt 3 hub through two Thunderbolt 3 to thunderbolt 2 adapters into separate Thunderbolt 2 channels on the Late 2013 Mac Pro? Would this resolve the Thunderbolt 2 bottleneck since you would be connecting to two separate Thunderbolt 2 channels (20 Gbps + 20 Gbps = 40 Gbps)?

if u want one SINGLE computer with portability the egpu is perfect all u need is one laptop and it can be your desktop thanks to thunderbolt 3

Glad this Bizon 3 was tested on an older TB2 interface. My buddy was wondering about getting it for his older Mac Pro. Looks like he could with great results. (:

BizonBox 3 is just literally an Akitio eGpu box in a custom case. And you are paying an extra 300$ on top of the Akitio original price.
so just get an Akitio Node which is the exact same for half the price, or if you want a better enclosure you could just wait until September and get the New Akitio Node Pro

Wonderful review. As and adobe Premiere User, I wanted to get the new Mac Pro but the built in GPU doesnt seem to work well with the software. People have reported, display issues, with a rend tint to the display, freezing and the software not starting up at all. So I have avoided getting one, before using the Bizon box were you getting any of the fault produced please? If so I'm guessing they went away with the Bizon plugged into it as now you will have cuda cores witht he nvida GPU. How did this handle 4k video with the EGPU attached? Hey Tomas great video thank you! I have a question you may be able to help me with. I do a ton of editing in the CC as well using Premiere Pro & After Effects. I've had my Mac Pro for over 3 years now and think it may be dying on me here pretty soon (sometimes it randomly shuts down/restarts on me). I'm thinking of getting the new MacBook pro fully loaded, and adding at Bizon Box to it. Does that make sense, or am I going to notice a huge drop in editing time going from my old Mac Pro to the new Macbook Pro? BTW my MacPro (2013 edition) is fully loaded too.

The new Mac Pro coming this year should look like more like that thing - not exactly, but some version close to it, and not that weird oval mock-up that keeps getting posted around (as some cross between the trash can and cheese grater.

you know final cut x can do the encoding in half those times you stated for premier, that because final cut is optimised more.

Great videos Tomas, thanks for sharing. I'm a graphic artist and sculptor been working in Cinema 4d for a couple years now. Wondering if upgrading my RAM from 32 (4 slots) to the 64 and if the BizonBox3 would grant the video cards the capability to use things like Substance painter and other UV mapping as even with r19 they seem to be lacking decent workflows. Very nice video :) One question, it seems as though the geekbench 4 results on the macbook TB3 were about the same as the TB2 on the mac pro. Am I reading that correctly?

Does an eGPU impact performance overall by offloading the gfx or is general performance (finder, startup, etc) unaffected?

my major concern I'm curious about is driver conflict. if you use a EGPU on a Mac with AMD which are complete crap will it interfere with Nvida cards and the Nvidia control center? or do you just delete the and drivers and software priory's to installing to Nvidia card? but I still want my MacBook to work when its not docked into the EGPU
