MBARI researchers Bruce Robison and Kim Reisenbichler used video taken by unmanned, undersea robots called remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) to study barreleye fish in the deep waters just offshore of Central California. At depths of 600 to 800 meters (2,000 to 2,600 feet) below the surface, the ROV cameras typically showed these fish hanging motionless in the water, their eyes glowing a vivid green in the ROV's bright lights.

This video is narrated by senior scientist Bruce Robison.

I'm watching BBC America now about this fish. Had to look it up to read/learn more about them.

Videos won’t do much to satisfy my curiosity. That’s all I’ve managed to find about this fish. Interesting thing I’ve learned is that around 1980(?) or something the carcass was found but later in 2004 it was seen alive.
I guess I’ll have to look it up in depth especially since the most recent videos of this fish is from 10 years ago lmao
