Slept on?!? Hudef Viva Pro 3 REVIEW

Reviewing the Hudef Viva Pro Gen 3. Great all court paddle that leans all court with a steal of a price. If you like to hit groundstrokes, play aggressive, and don't mind a higher swing weight paddle in the mid 120s, this might be the one.

Thanks Will. I've been playing with the Viva Gen 2, and have been highly satisfied. I'm going to try out the Gen 3, though I think the Gen will continue to be the paddle off my choice since my muscle memory is tuned to it. I hope you continue to review the more budget friendly paddles along with any comparisons that you can make. For me, the swing weight is the only negative with the Viva paddle, otherwise a great all-around paddle at a very reasonable price. Perfect as a "first" premium paddle.

Great video!I have both, the gen 2 is an excellent powerful paddle, the gen 3 upgrades everything, it’s a monster, I love them!

Always appreciate your reviews Will. I returned my Perseus 3 a couple weeks ago, and I play Diadem 18k Power Pro, Viva Pro Gen 2 and Vatic Pro V7 16mm, . So, For $119 to my doorstep, I have one on the way. Team HUDEF has been excellent to deal with as they stand solid behind their paddles warranty, which is Lifetime to original owner with the new Gen3. That's tough to beat.

Kevlar. I really like my Sword and Shield J2K Pro. Great combo of power, spin, control and decent sweet spot. Just feels great.

This paddle is as close to perfect as I've ever played (and with the discount code it's under $120)!! Drop-shots from the baseline, topspin lobs, dinks, etc...just about perfect! Not to mention the 'Lifetime' warrantee!

Will, about 6 weeks ago I bought a 11624 Hurache Control X Kevlar after watching a few positive reviews. then right after I bought it, John Kew and a few others in your group commented that they liked the Azul Thrive much better. In fact John had it winning a paddle battle. After I got it I was initially disappointed in its performance and feel. It seemed like I was miss-hitting a lot of balls that were not in the exact sweet spot, and it didn’t have much power. I was bummed. Then I added some weight to add more stability and twist weight, and some higher to add more power. It played much better. Then I took off the grip, put some tungsten tape up the handle and even added a 1/2 ounce Slyce end cap. Now it is much better for control, pop, power and spin is very good. It’s still not as good as my Rombus Pulsar FX R2, but certainly serviceable. I’m intrigued by your and others reviews of the Hudef Pro Gen 3, especially the price but It doesn’t sound like it would be much different than my Hurache. It’s funny, I’m in a weird spot; I used to value Control over power, but now that I’m improving I like to have both a soft touch, good control and spin, but I see the advantage of better pop and power! Maybe one day I’ll find a paddle that does it all AND has a low swing weight for hand battles as I am best and having quick hands. Thanks for your excellent and unbiased reviews.

Which paddle hits harder ? The hudef gen 3 or the J7K pro paddle?

Thank you PB Will, great review. Had the old Gen 2 Viva Pro, liked it but ended up selling it. Question Sir, what would you say right now is the best Hybrid Paddle ? Is it the Thrive Azul ? My game is a bit like yours, like to end the point sooner, rather than latter and come from a tennis back round. Also had the Pickleball Apes Energy S, but did not like the feel and sold it. Met your good friend Brian Green and fellow pickleball podcaster in Panama. Hope you get to come down sometime with your Paddle Avengers group ( The Olsons, John Kew and Eddie your adopted Dad, Braydon and especially Doug ! ). Keep up the great work Sir, really enjoy your content. Saludos from Panama.
