I saw this edit and I went to read the whole manga because this was just unbelievable to me, since I couldn't comprehend that cutesy anime turning to angst. Turns out I was right and this edit just made it seem way worse than it is. During this chapter gojo spends an insane amount of time and effort for marin's costume, and at the comic con notices how far out of his league she is due to the attention she's getting. He uncovers an inferiority complex and thinks that marin may no longer wish to hang around him, and has a solemn and sad expression on his face, as she's surrounded by fans and photographers. However, she notices his expression and it greatly disturbs her. She does not bring it up, though, and sees Gojo in his home in the next chapter when her father takes her to see him. She sees that Gojo looks better now, and thinks that she will not bring up the way he looked that day, since it may upset him again.

tl;dr: gojo got scared and felt really sad, however things are likely not going to change and marin still loves him deeply
