So I Finally Watched Haikyuu

So I finally watched Haikyuu and this sports anime is goated.

This volleyball anime was better than I expected. I am excited for Haikyuu season 5. They have good characters like Hinata Shoyo, Tobio Kageyama, Kei Tsukishima, Yu Nishinoya, Oikawa Toru and more. Every Haikyuu OP is a banger and every episode will make you want to watch some more. There are also a lot of awesome matches by Karasuno. Haikyu is fantastic. When the manga is fully adapted many people will put this in their top 10 hell even in their top 5. The crazy thing about haikyu is that it gets better on multiple watch throughs. A lot of the complexity and themes around greed, talent vs hard work, passion, and averageness.

I love the fact that every single fan place Oikawa in their top 3 characters. We all appreciate different aspects of the show but we can all appreciate the fact that Oikawa is masterfully written.

This anime quite literally changed my life. It caught me at a period in time where I was physically at my worst in December of 2019 due to a lack of physical activity and awful eating habits and haikyu making volleyball look cool convinced me and my friends to give it a go for the hell of it and now I'm an outside hitter (tanaka and asahi's position) on my local volleyball team and I have a nasty dual wielding serve, I've never been as fit as I am now in my life and I spend every waking moment thinking about my next chance to play.
I'm hooked on the sport and I can't imagine my life without it and it's thanks to a fucking anime.
As for my favourite character
Anime only would be tanaka
But as a manga reader bokuto is my favourite and it isn't close

Plus what's amazing about haikyuu is how realistic it is, my volleyball coach confirmed that a large portion of the team came because of it and I came with only knowledge from it and my basic positioning and understanding of positions and rotations was right.

2:16 - This, to me, was one of the best qualities of Haikyuu. You could literally start it over and focus on _any_ of the teams and it would _still_ be a compelling story.

(Don't even _try_ and tell me you wouldn't watch a version of the anime where Kenma or Bokuto was the main character.)

My faves are Tsukishima, Tendou, and Kuroo.

And you're spot on; this show's greatest strength is the character development. Every character is dynamic and relatable... even the tertiary characters, which is incredibly hard to pull off without destroying the pacing, but they manage!!

I also really like how they set up the rules and possible combos available. It maximizes hype, and allows watchers to understand the stakes, without spoiling big moments or breaking the tension.

I'm actually writing a fantasy novel, and use Haikyuu as a model for explaining the magic system!

as a kagehina shipper you're "no" at 6:27 had me laughing out loud. TBH there's so much more to haikyuu than shipping but shipping content is fun and easy to make compared to long breakdowns of themes and stuff. so I'm glad you joined the fandom, even if I wont be seeing you in the hinata mpreg tag o7

I remember when Haikyuu LINE stickers were up on sales (ones with voices too) and I remember there was a huge hype. I haven't dipped myself into the universe, and I stoopidly ignored them. Then years later, when they're no longer on sales, I started watching the anime. I cannot describe my regrets and disappointment in my stupid self for ignoring the LINE stickers!

The thing I love most is the watching the passion the characters have develop and seeing them slowly improve over time (for example Hinata when he receives Arans spike for the first time in season 4 when back in season 1 he couldn’t even receive a serve from Kageyama).
