Bubba Wallace Has Finally Arrived!

Perhaps the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Season was dawning a new era for Bubba Wallace. After making the playoffs for the first time and turning the season around 23XI's longest-tenured driver has finally arrived!

I really don't think this fully captures how much Bubba improved as a whole this season.

True in general Bubba is stronger in the second half of the season (just look at his RPM days), but also he's stepped it up, even if some of the finishes don't reflect it *coughs in Roval, Kansas, and even Watkins Glen to lesser extent*

His improvement this year 100% shows in his Avg. Start, last year it was an 18.4, this year? 12.4. Easily his most consistent year in cup.

The sport does a lot of dumb stuff and shoots itself in the foot but the fans aren’t really making it any easier

Bubba is getting much better. Look at Byron. People questioning if he was cop material and then all the sudden 6 wins and a championship 4 appearance.
With the right car, crew chief and some coaching Bubba could pull off the same.

2023 was certainly the best year for team 23 (lol). Bubba Wallace has improved on mental toughness, racecraft, etc. If he can further improve and consistently make the playoffs, including the round of 12 at least, he's established himself as a force to be reckoned with.

My only worry is how will he handle the rest of the competition improving like Chase Elliott, Alex Bowman, and even Ty Gibbs. 23XI as a team has gotten better although 2024 will be the next biggest test for them and Bubba Wallace

0:43 I've heard one driver say that before -- A.J. Allmendinger, in 2005, when he was in Champ Car, although Allmendinger was a lot harder on himself publicly than Wallace was.

He was one of the best drivers in the playoffs.
He still has a bit to go to be a real threat on a weekly basis, but the improvement is undeniable. His critics are definitely going to have a hard time coping with his existence, lol.

He has it to get his 3rd Cup Series win next year at least. He'll need to keep his cool in the crucial moments coming to the end of the race when he is under pressure, this costed him the wins at Talladega and Texas this season.

bubba for a 6th season now exited for the 2024 season. Looking for consistent top 10’s and maybe a couple of wins. i was so bummed over the Texas and Kansas race. Both 23XI cars are gonna be dangerous this season.

BWs (or maybe not his) problem isn't how they start, or where they run mid race...its all about where they finish...the 23 will qualify and run either top 5 or top 10 but fade 3/4 into the race and will finish (and again maybe even BW himself) need to work on the stamina and putting that car top 10 at least every sunday.

If Bubba can stay out of his own head and just focus then I think he can be a consistent round of 8 guy who's ceiling is a couple of final fours. He needs to hone that killer instinct which goes back to my first comment. Has to have that blind faith trust a top flight driver exhibits.
