A friend of mine loaned me his Defined King James Bible and now it has become the only Bible that I read. I purchased one so now I have my own copy. I had previously asked if there were any plans on incorporating the defined words into the text, but now I see that this would not be a good idea. What a blessing this is to me. Thank you Dr D.A. Waite for all your hard work making this a truly helpful tool in reading and understanding Gods word.

Those who have used the A.V. (K.J.V.) Bible for a long time do not need to follow every footnote clarifying words. That would distract from normal reading. However, it is good to have the notes there, for the occasions on which one is less certain (or just complete in doubt) about what a word means. I have used the A.V. Bible all my life, from childhood and pray readily in Tudor/Stuart English, as so many other older Christians do so. However, the world has been trying to tug itself and all of us away from this majestic and accurate Bible, so younger Christians, alas, are usually less conversant in Tudor English. This Bible helps them, above all. TO GOD THE GLORY!

I really like this bible. Its been said that this is a bible that is great for new saved believers wanting to study the word of God. I agree those definitions help with some the words we dont understand . However ill also say that ive been saved and reading the word solid for 12 years now and this bible still helps me, also when i preach the word it helps if you have a mind melt down and forget what a word may mean, hey it happens we are human and you can glance down and there is your help. Great bible i recommend it

When I got saved, I had a NKJV Bible. Since then, I bought 2 KJV Bibles from Kirkbride. I love them. They're about 35 years old.

I have had one of these bibles now for ten years. I love it. However, I did over time have some issues with the leather staying bound to the material underneath. But I was able to fix that myself with some double sided tape. And it barely shows. But it is certainly worth having this bible. I would not trade it in. Great notes in the back on how the modern versions have become corrupted and why we need to be careful what version of the bible we read. Very good. I would highly recommend this bible despite the little issue with the leather binding that I experienced.

Good explanation. Even some of what seem the easiest matters to one, like I, who was reared daily on the K.J.V. Bible back in the 1940s and 1950s as a child, can seem strangely off-putting to readers of later decades when the newer (per)versions of the Bible came along, starting for most with the Revised Standard Version (which itself retained at least in some verses the pronoun and verb forms). I was so used to K.J.V. English that I prayed then (and still do), as my dear mother did, too,  in Tudor-Stewart English; it actually feels weird to pray in current English! I am glad to have this Defined edition and I hope that many others obtain it.

Spanish is my native language, but It hasn’t been a problem for me to read and understand the language in the King James Bible and in some cases, where I couldn’t understand a certain word, it has easily been solved with the help of the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. I can’t believe the “archaic” language of the King James Bible is such a headache for modern day English native speakers.

Absolutely fantastic - this is JUST what I was looking for! I have two questions. 1. Does 'The Defined King James Bible' also include the Apocrypha? 2. Assuming that a small number of the words aren't defined, do you also recommend I get Webster's 1828 American Dictionary of the English Language? Thanks for any help!

I absolutely LOVE this Bible. The font is the perfect font for my eyes. The Nelson comfort print comes in a close second, but still second. I am so happy I could find one in large print. Do they still make the large print or is it all medium print now?

The chief feature of this Bible are its archaic word definitions and grammatical guide which is duplicated at the beginning and ending of each book. Such could easily be compiled in a small PDF file or booklet and made available on their website for sale or for free which I have not seen. I get a mixed message from this.
