Hello everybody, welcome to my YouTube channel!

My name is Aleks and in this video we take a closer look at a special piece from Jaeger-LeCoultre and it was a very important watch for the brand.

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Odysseus collection was introduced in the late 1980's at a point when JLC where struggling due to the quartz crisis.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Odysseus Chronograph was powered by a mecha-quartz movement unlike anything seen before. A small movement with over 200 components and it was technically very complicated and a huge achievment at the time of introduction.

My watch with the reference number 165.9.30 is the first ever watch produced in tantalum by Jaeger-LeCoultre, so it is a truly a rare gem.

Check the video out to hear my thoughts on the watch!

Make sure you hit that like and subscribe button.

I’ve just bought the black dialled Jaeger-LeCoultre: Master Control
Ref: 145.8.31.5 with the Meca Quartz.

I believe that JLC didn’t produce very many of their own cased Meca Quartz. Beautiful watch you have there

The fact that it can also act as a GMT is pretty fantastic ! Not sure if other chronos also have this feature
