I am an old man. 64/65, I found Ed on a facebook post last summer. Where the hell has this dude been hiding? Why did i never see or hear about him before then? This cat is just amazing. Song after song, hit after hit, and still blows me away. I am so hooked in his music. He is just awesome and can't wait to hear him sing a song every morning when i first wake up. Its just great. Love you young man. You Rock my

It think this song is one of the best songs that Ed wrote it. But I also think the song is very underrated and this isn't fair.

This song brings on so many emotions for me now. My father went through chemotherapy for a year and a half. I woke up in the middle of the night from the phone call from my mum in a care home where my father had passed away on the way to visit him in the middle of the night i turned on the radio and this song just started to play. I understand the song is about substance abuse. But even the pain killers my dad was on made him hallucinate and all he wished for was to get better from the drugs kicking in...Love you Ed, you're a channel for many stories around the world. All the best for everyone.

The process of listening to an Ed Sheeran song:

1. Listen to the song.
2. Listen to the song a second time to pick up the meaning, story, etc.
3. Listen to the song a third time because it's just so damn good.

I was in Ed Sheeran's concert some days ago, and I listened to that song for the first time. I loved the instrumental, and the Ed Sheeran's "mmm"s melody... since then, I cannot stop singing it in my head. Love this song!

"Bloodstream"

[Verse 1:]
I've been spinning now for time
Couple women by my side
I got sinning on my mind
Sipping on red wine
I've been sitting here for ages
Ripping out the pages
How'd I get so faded?
How'd I get so faded?

[Chorus:]
Oh, no, no, don't leave me alone lonely now
If you loved me how'd you never learn?
Oh, coloured crimson in my eyes
One or two could free my mind
This is how it ends.
I feel the chemicals burn in my bloodstream
Fading out again.
I feel the chemicals burn in my bloodstream
So tell me when it kicks in

Well, tell me when it kicks in

[Verse 2:]
I've been looking for a lover
Thought I'd find her in a bottle
God, make me another one
I'll be feeling this tomorrow
Lord, forgive me for the things I've done
I was never meant to hurt no one
I saw scars upon a broken-hearted lover

[Chorus:]
Oh, no, no, don't leave me alone lonely now
If you loved me how'd you never learn?
Oh, coloured crimson in my eyes
One or two could free my mind
This is how it ends.
I feel the chemicals burn in my bloodstream
Fading out again.
I feel the chemicals burn in my bloodstream
So tell me when it kicks in

Well, tell me when it kicks in
Well, tell me when it kicks in

The part I feel the most is when he says "Lord forgive me for the things I've done, I was never meant to hurt no one."

All the voices in my mind
Calling out across the line

[6x:]
Tell me when it kicks in
I saw scars upon her
Tell me when it kicks in
Broken hearted

I love the way the instrumental part in 3:19 gets more and more intense and the feeling it gives.

I saw this performed live yesterday. The raw energy and frustration and raw feelings that were poured into this song shone on stage. Absolutely sublimely insane.

For me, this song is a huge 'trigger' song. As an addict, Ive accepted that there will be things in my life that will challenge my sobriety, but I wonder if Im the only one that feels that hearing this song. For those who haven't experienced addiction, its like trying to explain something to a wall, it can't be done. Not because someone isn't smart enough but because there is a void, a hole in your soul, and addiction is fighting you for your soul. Its a constant pull, even on the best days. It is heaven & it is very much hell. *For those* struggling right now, you never lose yourself completely, there is a piece of you fighting to come back, the person you know you can be, & it is never too late. never. RIP to those that lost the fight, or gave up, I pray your at peace finally, & feel no more pain.
