I've been to both his house, and the library in Venice. That's what makes Indiana Jones such a good movie series. It's authentic work, and they rarely ever used green screen. Such a great series, man.

Fun fact: this was the first Indiana Jones movie I ever saw!

Also, the fact that Sean Connery, a former Bond, played Indy's dad is genius casting.

Rest in peace, Sean Connery.

10:11 Even on a Tiny Phone screen it's obvious to see that Chasm doesn't drop out of frame, she just walks through the doorway and into the shadow of the threshold, and since his suit is dark, he blends into the background.

Are you going to cover The Crystal Skull movie? I know that most fans dislike that film but I still find fun with it and am curious to hear a lot of your fun facts about it + any behind the scenes stories :)

I think when Indy looks at the X in the library, I think there's a reason he's looking at it for so long before going up the stairs, the X itself is shiny, where the rest of the floor is matte, so I think you ONLY could see it from at the top of the stairs at that time. I could be wrong, but that's how it looked to me

That line where Indy asks Henry what he found, when he answers with “Me? Illumination” gives me chills every time

Spielberg is definitely a director worthy of dedicating an entire summer to, I hope to see more great dives on as many of his films as possible! And i for one do hope Crystal Skull is included, the hate on that movie i think is mostly not deserved.

First time viewer of The Deep Dive - just wanted to say that this is one of the BEST examples of this type of movie analysis/Easter egg videos that I've seen. The editing is excellent, great narration, and it goes very in depth and actually contains info that I didn't know rather than just re-hashing the same stuff we've all heard before. Amazing work!!

When you started talking about a Spielberg summer, I assumed you'd do a deep dive on Jurassic Park, but I'm super stoked to hear you confirm it. Literally my favorite movie of all time.

When they drop the guy off from the boat, he doesn’t drop off from the picture. He walks into a shadow. He might have taken one step down, but you can still see him there.

Thank you so much for these deep dives. I randomly decided to watch all of the Indy movies and your releases have been in sync with my watching. Cheers, mate.

I like that Indy in movie 4 now 5 wears his satchel strap outside of his jacket as opposed to under it after getting stuck on the tank gun

You probably have seen this already, but IEJOVAH is how your subtitle spelled IEHOVAH... oops! Otherwise, awesome vid. Loved your insights, esp. on Spielberg's "daddy issues"... no doubt, the interactions between Indy and Henry Sr. resonated with MILLIONS of male viewers who had issues of one type or another with absentee (physically, mentally, emotionally, or some combo thereof) fathers. Keep up the great work!

The Marcus Brody joke is the greatest joke in cinema and nothing since has topped it for me 😂

Alexei Sayle. Actor and comedian who played the car loving ruler of Hatay, also played the Disc Jockey on the funeral planet that the Sixth Doctor visited on classic Doctor Who...

One thing I latched onto with a recent rewatch is that in the beginning of the film when the Coronado blows up, we see Panama Hat's hat floating in the water. His lifelong obsession with obtaining the cross led to his ultimate demise. Learning to "let it go" is an important lesson Indy learns by the end of the film, but Panama Hat never did.
