10:07 “interesting philosophical pick.”

No one but Reid Duke would say such a thing lol

Pack 3 Pick 1 seemed like a good opportunity to pick up wheel of fortune with basically no opportunity cost. Might not make the deck, but definitely higher upside than a bayou for only field and no black cards.

Thanks for the draft Reid! :) It was a lot of tight picks in this draft and it's great to hear your analysis of your picks!
I love the pick between Portal, O ring, Elspeth and Karn as the last inclusions. It's like a super close multidimensional tug of war. Personally I would have gone with Karn and Elspeth. First of all, only one white card cause the white manafix is strained. Elspeth over O ring because i really like to play with her, but I see how it might be better to have an easier to cast general removal in the deck. Karn I like because as I said before, won't be hard to cast. But also because if I go against a deck with fast mana he I think he will be good and if I'm against a slower deck it's fine to take some time to get portal. But I think your pick of O ring and Elspeth is more powerful. It's haaard. Thanks again! 😊

23:22 Before watching the rest of the draft or the games I think Mox Ruby might be a slightly better pick one because
A: Blue is not always open
B: it is good even as a colorless source in every deck
That being said, Mana Drain is much better in the decks in which it is good, and you did end up in an almost monoU deck with a few colorless pips on your big cards, so in this deck the Drain is probably better, going for pure P1P1 win% I think Ruby may have been better/less of a gamble. I would have picked Mana Drain because I like it better.

I may be wrong, but I pretty much never pass oppo when I’m mono G with mana dorks.

Edit: maybe I’m biased from too many legacy cubes.

Really frustrating the choice to run 17 lands in a mostly monocolour deck with no fetches and plenty of cantrips. He flooded out constantly.. Deck would've been so much better if he prioritised fetches in pack 3 since blue was completely open there wasn't much point in picking medium blue cards over fetches when you have brainstorm, top and jace...

The help you get from Chat is upsetting. People talk about ghosting, you clearly had an advantage through your chat. Example- not strip mining.

"It is easy enough to say that man is immortal simply because he will endure: that when the last ding-dong of doom has clanged and faded from the last worthless rock hanging tideless in the last red and dying evening, that even then there will still be one more sound: that of Reid's girlfriend's inexhaustible voice, still talking." -William Faulkner, 1950
