What do we need to do to crush SFAS? Today in the Team Room we talk what we need to do to prepare our bodies and minds so we can go into Selection knowing we're going to get selected.

What should we talk about next in the TR? Leave your topic requests in the comments.

I was selected 24 years ago. I retired from SF a few years ago. I'm still in phenomenal shape, notwithstanding the injuries and surgeries. But it was still a great thing to listen to this as I walked my dog. In many ways, we are still in "selection, " but in life. SF is a way of life.

Knew a SF guy. The answer to the ”Why am I here?” question was
”I was too dumb to quit.” He didn't have any other reason than he didn't want to quit. Suddenly the course was over and he was still there and he passed.

These guys make SFAS so deep. Just be a team player and be verbal, be a worker and involve yourself. Be value added. You will make it.

Having my OCS Board interview on October 18th! Preparing myself to make this major life chane. Pushed myself from being a 315lbs powerlifter to losing 85lbs, now at 230. Pursuing special operations as the driving force in my determination, with the Green Beret being the pinnacle. No matter the outcome I want to do my best to serve and help those around me. Finding you and your videos has been an immense motivational and educational tool.

Thanks Nick and thanks to all the prior SF candidates in the comments, all sharing free information to help others succeed in this pathway. I passed the medical screening at MEPS today and swore in for my 18x contract. Shipping Jan 28. I’m both excited and nervous.

This stuff is invaluable to me and I’m going into this with not just some confidence and motivation from myself, but from videos, comments and guys like Nick.

He’s not trying to give any tangible numbers or (pushing hard to) sell some 100 plus dollar workout program. He’s telling you what the cadre are truly looking for above just physical fitness. That how you know this advice is genuine. Thanks again, Nick and thank you positive comments!

For those in preparation for SFAS off the street with 18X contract or from a line unit. For the PFT it is hand release push-ups, 2 mile run and then strict cadence pull-ups. In that order. It’s been constantly changing over the past 5 months. I think this will be the standard for the time being. Off of what he has discussed durability/mentality is probably the most important as an individual. Regardless of physical stature injuries and particular foot hygiene/health breaks most guys. There’s many pillars of success at selection and luck. Best way to attack SFAS is your physical readiness, learning from training, and absorbing knowledge and experience from your leadership and cadre.

To say i'm nervous would be an understatement, but at the same time just absolutely amped up and ready to get after it leaving in January on an 18x contract at 19 years old. It's men and role models like you that really help keep me going and stay motivated even when those workouts get tough and the rucks get hard, it's all worth it in the end. Momentary pain for a lifetime of glory.

I hope everyone, especially potential new candidates, appreciate the information like this that you provide.

I went through selection 30 years ago, but was unsuccessful. I completed it, but was not selected.

I wish I had access to this type of information back then…..of course, times and technology, like internet access, have changed……and I’m not necessarily saying I would have been selected anyway, but I certainly believe I would’ve sustained a better chance 🤷🏼‍♂️

Best of luck to all future 18X candidates! 🇺🇸

I plan to go this year

I switched from active duty to the guard to focus on healing, since my platoon was hazing me and not giving me the chance to recover.

I’m in the guard and working my a** on to prep for SFRE. I’m blessed to have that opportunity to get input from a near identical instructor to SFAS. I don’t know when but hopefully soon.

A couple of my GB buddies gave me a lot of rucking tips, and from my time in group I do a fallen hero workout just about every day to build up my cardio

I’m gonna be honest, I’m nervous and I feel like I’m overthinking a lot. I don’t like to fail, and I won’t fail.

I honestly don’t think there’s anything else in life I could see myself being other than a green beret.

Listen to what this young man says gentlemen! I’m almost 50 and he has really helped me refocus on my priorities towards the end of my career! In any capacity I think Nick’s words and actions can be used as a compass to focus on to achieve your goals. 👍

Honestly, just basic training and SOPC alone, I was able to get into good enough shape to pass selection. But this video is right on. I also somehow got a copy of Get Selected. I think I was the only one reading it though. Lol

Dear Sir.
I lost about 30lbs in the last 4 months.

I want to try to join the special forces in 🇨🇭. As you may know there are just two different forces, so I hope I'm doing the right thing in training.

I think it's pretty hard to find the right way for preperation. But your videos are helping so much! Blessings from 🇨🇭
