Making Steak 'n' Potatoes in the Zstar Indoor Air Fryer Grill

This is a first look and test of the Zstar Indoor Air Fryer grill. This grill has 7 preset cooking modes, capacitive touch buttons and a control panel that's located at the top of the unit. In this video, I'm making fresh potato wedges and a big ol' cowboy ribeye steak.

1. After preheat and cooking it continues to run fan only to vacate/equalize the heat. Lifting the lid when done is recommended to stop cooking and vacate heat.
2. Route the temperature cable out one of the rear corners of the basket. The lid closes completely.
3. Preheat works fine. You do not have to manually turn off and then back on. Just lift the lid to stop. Lower the lid to commence cooking. It picks up where you left off.
4. Much of this is in the brochures which come with the unit.

The unit doesn’t have an actual light. It is the cooking element heating up and it turns on and off periodically to maintain the cooking temperature that it’s preset to. That’s what the orange color is. Just like looking into a toaster when you turn it on you can see the coilsheat up and when it’s done, then they go off.

I think you'll find that it is the element on the top of the unit that is the light, that's why it's yellowy/orange colour and not a bulb.

Did the aluminum foil stop the airflow from circulating throughout the inside of the pan?

Ours cooked well but when my husband found out that halogen lighting was used, he warned me to keep an eye out. About a week later, it came on and a second later it made like a slight popping sound and went out. Opened up the lid and saw that the glass of the halogen broke, putting shards of glass into the chicken. Husband said that it can happen but you don't hear of it very often. Returned it and got a replacement and gave it to my daughter who needed a air fryer and was willing to take it and it is working fine! No more halogen light for air fryers in this house.

Great cheaper option to the ninja if you can’t afford the ninja price. That air fry basket looks huge. Can you do a comparison video to the Ninja Grill XL.

I’ve looked everywhere for one of these. On line, target, Amazon. Sent messages to the manufacturer and no luck.
