!!!WARNING!!! If you do go with a style that connects to the tripod thread at the bottom of your camera know that this is a single point of failure. I was using this setup with my Peak Design strap and the screw on the plate came undone during a event. Thankfully Nikon builds beast cameras and it survived the fall. If you go with this config buy a safety tether which attaches to your camera body and the strap serving as a backup.

One extra thing I love about the PD anchor system is that even if you don’t like their straps (which I do) you can buy the anchor points separately with strap connectors so you can use them with other straps too, so you get the convenience of the system, but with your own choice of strap!

I frequently use a strap for more adventurous outdoor video shooting and on site b-roll when I had to hustle and run & gun. I've been on horseback with relatively heavier 70-200mm f/2.8 and other telephotos, had to climb up dodgy inclines or trees for better positions, etc. I was very glad I had a strap. Also you can use it for tension against your elbow, similar to military training with rifle straps, you pretty much have another point of contact for better stabilization. -- Nice round up video. Definitely wouldn't trust those plastic squeeze/snap fasteners for anything professional or expensive.

Going for peak design after my strap failed to hold my eos r + battery grip + effin heavy 24-70 lens I'm so lucky the camera is built like a tank! Haha
