Have you ever wondered what the secret to a long and healthy life is? Why do some people live to 100 while others are felled so soon? Our guest today, National Geographic Fellow and best-selling author, Dan Buettner, offers some answers. Buettner has spent decades studying the areas of the world where people live exceptionally long lives, which he has famously dubbed “Blue Zones.” This episode expands on the topics he covered in a stirring keynote at the Global Wellness Summit in Tel Aviv in Tel Aviv, Israel. Explore with us his findings on what really drives happiness, the important role of aging parents in society, how diseases like Alzheimer’s can be a choice, the role of community and friendship in longevity, and more. We’ll also talk about a topic near and dear to most of us – food – and how to embrace and enjoy common sense options.
