Watching people react to "Kingdom" has become it's own subgenre of YouTube video.

Devin: Starts singing
Mike: *Drops his jaw and kept being dropped through out the song.*

Pretty much every persons reaction first time hearing Devin sing.

Devin is THE MOST talented musician I can think of, not only does he compose all his own songs, he plays guitar on them, sings on them and performs them live and does all of those things at a world class level and has been doing so for over 25 years producing a catalog of over 20 albums, he’s so prolific I’m not entirely sure how many albums he has to his credit. He’s a metal Mozart, just a generational, prodigious talent. Please just react to ANY, literally ANY of his other live stuff. His live shows are next level, his performances are next level and his personality on stage is beyond delightful, he’s a funny classy and just all around delightful human being.

I really, REALLY, **REALLY** enjoy watching the faces of voice teachers the first time they watch Devon Townsend - many chuckles.

A hobby us DevHeads have is watching people get floored on their first Devin Townsend listen. It's so nice to see him getting appreciation. He's truly the best out there currently :D

Devin Townsend Deadhead live at the Royale Albert Hall is a must! His vocal performance on that will leave you speechless

You're onto Devin?! Duuuude! I knew it was only a matter of time before you accepted Ziltoid as your sovereign master!

I would suggest also you could take a look at "Why" from his quarantine concerts. It is a great song and performance.

My favorite musical artist of all time. The guy is a musical genius. He has over 20 studio albums in his career and while most of it is prog metal, he also has some ambient, extreme metal, rock, blues, and other types of albums too. Started out as Steve Vai's vocalist back in the day.

Definitely check out "The Death of Music" and "Deadhead" (both live at Royal Albert Hall) for more of a display on his incredible vocal range.

You should check out "Why?" live from his quarantine stream for more Dev silliness and theatrical vocals.

Devin is a force of nature. Mike, thank you for your genuine reaction. You look like most when they watch Devie, jaws dropped, and eyes swirling! Love it. Please deep dive into this master, even Devin Townsend’s history and who he really is! Steve Vai broke him into the industry, but Devies best stuff is his solo work. If you haven’t already, check out his latest, light works. Especially the song “into the void”. The video is awesome. It’s part two of three. Again, thank you for your genuine jaw dropping reaction to the force of nature that is Devin Townsend. He is a musical hero to me. Holla back!

I'd recommend his live performance of The Death of Music at RAH, everyone seems to recommend Deadhead due to his amazing "screams and passion" in that song, but I feel you'll get a far better range and variety with the Death of Music.

Check out his Disneyesque lockdown version of "Why?". Hilarious performance and amazing vocals. And he's just as funny live... Hawaiian music in-between bands, wearing a tutu, encore was Disco Inferno with no irony... So fun.

I really appreciate that you take the piece as a whole, actually reacting, and then giving analysis. Far too often these videos consist of pausing to react every 20 seconds, thereby ruining the entire vibe of the piece as a whole.

Definitely the right way to go about it. Nice job!

I've argued for years that heavy metal has some of the best singers that have ever been in the music business: Corey Taylor, Tatiana, Maynard Keenan, Phil Anselmo, Phil Bozeman (I've learned over the last year... who knew), Floor Jansen, on and on. This performance just once again proves what I've always preached. Heavy Metal has some of the best and the most versatile singers.

Devin started his professional career singing for Steve Vai on the album 'Sex and Religion' when he was 19.

Listen to the song 'Still My Bleeding Heart' to hear a truly incredible vocal performance from him.

The lyrics of the song can bring a tear to your eye, juxtapose that with his stage presence and humor, incredible musicality and ability, and you have one of the most complete, emotionally and musically satisfying performances on the YouTubes.
