For the first time ever, scientists have used James Webb Space Telescope to take a direct image of an exoplanet, a gas giant, called HIP 65426 b, 385 light-years away from us.

I'm excited about the JWST but they couldn't have picked a less interesting exoplanet if they had tried. There are other exoplanets many light years closer to Earth that are much more relevant and more likely to contain life than random gas giants hundreds of light years away. Maybe they're still calibrating the equipment and monitoring gas giants is part of that calibration process. I hope that's what it is

I love space. I love it so much I wish a part of me could live forever just to see it all!

Can jwst capture direct image of proxima b

HIP 65426 b orbits what's known as an A-type star, compared to our sun which is a G-type star.

When are they going to try to take pictures of the Proxima system?

thing is mid infrared only showing the beginning of space in general ?

I think that if you zoom more, youll only see what we are able to see, the third dimension split into one big pool of heat that was space in one or two dimension before.

very impressive indeed to not only aim the thing at the planet but for it to also picture it past the stars bright light.
it makes me wonder if humans will indeed travel the stars one day and get to see these fascinating worlds up close.
either way I sure am intrigued.

Hello Everyone, Another gas giant exoplanet, I wish they {JWST, would image something a bit more exciting like TON 618, Talk about a supermassive black hole, That monster is 23.6 billion miles across, But this is interesting non the less, Thank You Ardit and crew, Have a safe & happy Labor Day Weekend and I'll see you soon. 👍

We need 20 to 30 meter mirror space telescope for zooming in closer to the exoplanets. 👌

Absolutely Amazing, hopefully I'm alive long enough to see when we discover an Earth-like planet. 🤞

They should point it at trappist 1 next

They are the same exact images as all the others just clearer.

From the photos I've seen this looks more like a binary star system rather than a planet and a star..if the so called planet is 12 times the mass of Jupiter that's big enough to be considered a star.

I wish there was no music. It is distracting

Neptune is the eighth planet from the Sun and the farthest known planet in the Solar System. It is the fourth-largest planet in the Solar System by diameter, the third-most-massive planet, and the densest giant planet. It is 17 times the mass of Earth, and slightly more massive than its near-twin Uranus.
Is it True?

Is it scientifically possible for their to be materials in whatever form out there that we are currently unaware of. Metals. Gasses. Liquids and so Forth. ?

Oh, just wanted to say thank you for the videos you put together. I really really appreciate the quality of these videos. Very informative, short and sweet, doesn't drag out a 15 minute video talking about irrelevant stuff like I see on every other channel. This is why I stay!
