Just finished unmasked last week. Great read, very informative. Brought back a lot of memories around the COVID and the "summer of love". I still can't believe that a major city (any city!) In the U S. allowed a portion of it to be literally occupied and removed from the city proper.

A lot of people suffer from what I like to call "Javert's Disease." It's from the book "Les Miserables, " where we get this description "Inspector Javert's mental attitude could be said to be compounded of two things, things which, while noble in themselves, he made into something almost evil by taking them to extremes." Despite the marks, that's not an exact quote, but it's close enough. Lot's of people have "good intentions" and whatnot, but through a lack of foresight combined with an overwrought sense of moral superiority just end up making things worse than if they'd left well enough alone.
