WTF?! I didn't know anyone out of RI cared about Caprio. I've been in his court room and he actually he is a really nice guy. But I've also see what happens when he is disrespected. He lays down the hammer...HARD!

I love this judge. I've seen a few of his videos on YouTube. For me, he ranks right up there with the judge who sentenced a veteran to a night in jail for a parole violation, only to then spend the night in the cell with him because he was worried about a fellow veteran. And there's also the judge who was disgusted that a defendant had been forced to show up in court with no pants on. She refused to continue on until the woman was properly clothed and also given the feminine hygiene products denied to her. She also demanded that a higher up from the jail come explain why this had happened and then stomped the jailers reason in the mud. In another case where she was sending a man to jail for a prison term of a few years, she found out that the mother of his newborn child was there with the baby. He had never met the baby (a boy I think). So before she had him taken away, she had the mother and baby come in so that he could hold and meet his child for the first time ever.

There are a great many good judges out there. My husband and I were blessed to be married by a criminal court judge who had befriended my husband when they worked at the DA's office together before she was appointed as a judge. I have also worked with attorneys who I respect very deeply become judges. But I have also known judges that don't deserve the title of your honor. Without going into great detail I can list three. A judge who used their clout to get a position for their child that they weren't completely qualified for, another would leave his robes on when he left his courtroom because people tended to let him jump lines and move out of his way in general, to a judge who demanded that the email system for the entire county be changed to what he used at home to make it easier for him. And these are just silly, petty reasons. There is a great deal of corruption in the court system. Luckily, there are good judges too...

I wish there were more judges like this in the world... There wouldn't be overcrowding in jails for minor offenses and ridiculous reasons and we need more of him <3
