I bought one of these Sony units and also two Sony NS710H units. All three are brand new. I will use the NS710H unit and have the other two units as back ups. It is getting more difficult to find regular DVD units now. I like the idea of the HDMI cable and upconverting. Thank you for your review. Sincerely Tom Pennock

So when you plug in the HDMI cable in the ports on both the DVD player and HD TV, you can change the screen size back to the way we like it?

Setting the player to TV Type: 16:9 and 4:3 Output option to "Full" will stretch full frame to fill the screen. Although full frame content shouldn't be stretched regardless. Also this feature has nothing to do with player's upscaling feature.
