Well, we have written a song with Dimitris (Psarras). And I say "with Dimitris" because he plays a key role in the song and is marginally considered as a co-creator.
The song is called "The last journey", Dimitris has played the bouzouki and it is a special song because its meaning is interpreted in two ways. We recorded it in a studio in Perea, in Aris Albanos, an excellent music producer. Dimitris played bouzouki uncharitably. I say this because it needs to be heard. The lyrics of the song are therefore interpreted in two ways. The first and most obvious is a dedication to Manos Eleftheriou who is one of my favorite poets and lyricists, if not my favorite, along with Kostas Tripolitis
And the second is the description of a refugee's journey which ends violently and ingloriously. One part of the chorus says "Dragons come to lair for the last trip". And he means the trip of this person which is interrupted because the Greek Coast Guard pushbacked him. Now, because of Samos, these events are current. You know, the facts that the Greek prime minister says that they do not happen but, in fact, they do.
Because of the pushback of the Greek Coast Guard, this man is murdered.
These two ways of interpreting the verses are incidentally related to each other because Manos Eleftheriou was particularly aware of the refugee issue. And indeed he has also written a song entitled "Homelands set on fire"
I wanted this song to have a melodic line reminiscent of the music composer Stavros Kouyoumtzis. So, you understand that Dimitris had to play bouzouki. There was no way anyone else could play bouzouki.
