For me it's without a doubt the best sounding and most innovative/original/fun vst synth ever. Almost all the others feel like toys, but Aalto feels like an instrument ! An instrument you can spend the afternoon with, an instrument you can learn, an instrument you can make yours.. I know I sound like a bad commercial but this is true believe me !! All the people who bought it know what i'm talking about !

It should be noted, that there is a lite version of Aalto that you can buy for ~$5. Computer Music Magazine has their own branded version of this that is fully featured except for being monophonic, and you get it with buying any recent issue of their magazine. Quite a deal if you just wanna try this out. (The Computer Music Magazines also comes with a lot of other plugins if you buy the magazine. It's one of the best places to go for cheap quality plugins.)

Cool—glad you like it. The drums are from a groove I created in Maschine (a combination of hits from the Andre Winter Siptech Kit, Dominik Eulberg Kit, and Eric Sneo Kit).

I also comsider Aalto to be a gem. It was great to hear some melodic examples here. Many examples that I have found are more like sound textures.

Great synth with one of the best manuals ever. Fun to program and great sound. Just using the monophonic BEAT version though.
