The Heights of the Carpathians

As we climb ever higher up the Carpathian peaks, here in the heart of Europe, we ask ourselves, what is it that is so remarkable about this landscape? We’re 2000 metres above the basins, or water catchments, and in a highland region of a variety that is unique in Europe. Ranges of quite differing natures stretch out next to each other, and it is this variety that delights the eye. Let us introduce you to this Carpathian mountain world.

Excellent documentary about the Carpathians! At least the parts regarding the geographical and geological features.
Too bad for the lack of objectivity, the pro-Hungarian bias, when it comes to presenting the populations that live there and their origin. I am aware that this documentary also serves as propaganda in front of the English speaking world and I would like to ask the international audience to take the historical facts presented there with a grain of salt.
For example, little is said (one-two words) about the existence of Slovaks, Ruthenians, Germans or Romanians in the area, although if you search the Internet a bit, you will see that the most numerous people that evolved around the Carpathian Mountains is that of the Romanians. As for the many Hungarians that died in front of Tatar attacks, that can be said of all the populations in the region. Don't forget that the Wallachians and Moldovans living just outside the SE part of the Carpathians did not have the benefit of these mountains to help them guard the territory.
Anyway, besides that part, the documentary is inspiring and very well made, so congrats!

Sir, the romanians are the biggest ethnic group from within the carpathian range since neolithic times and possibly before. They are not have not settled in depopulated areas, they have lived within and around the middle and southern carpathian range for millenia. Have a good day!

Sloavkian Carpathians are the tallest and most beautiful <3 By the way check out the map of Carpathians and map of Hungary lol. Carpathians belong to Romanians and Slavs. Not one bird or molecule of oxygen flies even remotely close to Hungarian straight plain of nothing :)

It's funny how Bucegi, Piatra Craiului, Fagaras and Calimani mountains are all presented in Hungarian language, although they are placed in Romania.

I love Carpathians and I love Romania. The documentary is filled with misinformation. Hungary is far away from the mountains and will be forever. There are Romanian roots everywhere across Transylvania and the Carpathians

This video has intentional " mistakes". The dacians have inhabited this space since the beginning of time. Hungarian s came from Asia in Europe. Our ancestors where already here when that happened. Thinking that speaking in Hungarian we can't perceive your lies is downright hilarious.

Beautiful images, good documentary, not correct about the ethnic groups and history but hey, Hungarians made it. Weird to hear tha names of the places in Hungarian and not as they are spelled locally. Hungary has nothing to do with Carpathians
