I remember reading the short story this was based on "The Monkey's Paw" back in 8th grade. I never expected to be reminded of it in a Cyanide and Happiness short of all things.

"Oh, Monkey Paw, you gave me everything I ever wished for... *kind of*" PERFECTLY sums up when you expect the monkey paw to grow an entire monkey to be free then kill people, BUT instead you get a super weird twist of an ending and love every second of it.

So, in a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy, he wished for the paw’s freedom, but he himself created the catch because of what the paw did *with* his freedom (go home to his Monkey Paw brethren)
