I remember I was in an audio editing class in college and I remember the professor said “now these sound effects might sound cheap but when they sound cheap in your project… that means it’s not mixed properly” and showed the same sound effects singularly that did admiringly sound cheap but when he put them together to make an audio narrative project it sounded really professional! Just a tangent that this video reminded of lol. Amazing work as always Spenser!!

Good audio really improves immersion, which is very important when you're trying to tell a story. I feel that (as you touched on) people should be able to follow the story on the audio alone.

Couldn't agree more! I recently watched a short film, that looked pretty good and obviously had decent camera gear etc, but the vocal had obviously been recorded separately to the shoot, and I literally had to turn it off. It was just weird and off-putting, the dialogue seemed like a slightly out of synch dub.

I assumed it was done on purpose! I actually really liked that you couldn't hear that part, it added a little mystery to the story. To me, it fit in really well.
