Overlanding Central Texas / THE HILL COUNTRY TOUR

Being from Texas I've often wondered what kind of overlanding adventures I might be missing out on. Follow my brother and I as we set out to explore the Texas Hill Country on one of Texas's few overland routes.
Along the way we cross rivers, spot wildlife and set a pretty nice camp for the night along the Llano River. If you enjoyed or got anything from this video please like and subscribe or share with a friend, or both. Both would be pretty rad.

Excellent video yall. I'm a nomadic photographer based out of the Llano area. I know this route like the back of my hand and have captured the beautiful wildflowers, nature and landscape the area provides. I enjoyed watching this so much that I'm joining your overland adventures.

5:43 Went through sandy creek on the trail sometime last year after some heavy rains, it was our first time on that section and it was pretty flooded by comparison lol.. we were able to get through but it was a little sketchy for us. Texas hillcountry tour is like "Overlanding 101" we are "weekender overlanders" and have done the THC more than a handful of times now. Haven't done the traverse yet, but have been through big bend on multiple sections.. and we hadn't been through water like that yet (without others with us) and it was an experience.

13:17 we always stop by that lowes and at coopers before heading south off that fork to the llano where that camp ground is and park in the rocks across from it and chow and fish for a while before getting back on the trail. We live in San Angelo now so either use mason as the start or we'll drive down to rockspring just to head back up through junction if we feel like doing the "whole" trail

16:32 I NEVER KNEW you could camp on that side! we always pull off at the other side of the road haha.. i guess we never noticed the signs.. cant tell you how many times ive been there just to fish and ive never seen those signs.

21:48 that river crossing is deceptively shallow lol first time we went through, we took that little shoot off to the left where its dry in the video cuz i could see the ground there more than the crossing itself. Good times

I had that bbq and it was salty. Will y’all be at the TAO event this year. This will be my 4th year going. I’ll be in an outback. I have a black one but I hope to get a wilderness by September.

Fried Prairie oysters are actually delicious. I even had cold fried Buffalo balls from a hotel and restaurant in Marblemount, WA when I went camping in the Cascade Mountains. My friend's wife drove the 25 miles down the mountain to town to meet her friend that came to camp with us and they ate before coming back up. She saved some because she knew i loved them but only had them one time in 1988 at a rodeo in nacogdoches.
